Babblebox Creative
The name is unusual, to say the least. It also makes people giggle when they ask me for my email address, which I love. So what's up with this oddball name? Babblebox Creative is an alias held since 2004 - and a lesser known fact is it was actually inspired by a children's illustration on display in a corridor at the Stanley A. Milner Library in downtown Edmonton.
It was a simple drawing: two kids, and a treehouse. One was in the treehouse shouting "BABBELBOX" (written in a word bubble, spelled that way) for who knows what reason, to the other, looking up from the ground. I found it so random and hilarious as such. Yet it was as if it was being shouted directly at me, that bubble spoke to me (quite literally!). Many know me as being highly enthusiastic about my many new, seemingly random endeavors (sorry, not sorry to my family), however little did they know, it was all pointing to this place, right here.
Fun fact:
The child who drew it - would now be of post-secondary age themselves!

I am a graphic designer with a lifelong love for creativity in all its forms. While I’ve spent the last 20 years bringing marketing ideas to life through digital and print design (and teaching students the craft of design), I have also always been very passionate about working with my hands—crafting unique, handmade items that tell a story and serve a purpose.
Here you will find a place where thoughtful design meets the art of crafting beautiful things, allowing me to share my love for both with you, and I welcome any feedback or invitations to collaborate!
I hope to build a creative community where we can share and succeed together. Please join my email list to stay updated on this journey!
The Truth about being a "Babblebox Creative"
I am not the kind of creative that can stick to one thing, forever and ever. No matter how much it is recommended to have a "niche", or in more extreme terms, a "microniche". I have many hobbies, and I like sharing them. And I wanted to create a space where I could also sell them, since my pattern is often to shift with the seasons. I have, and forever will, listen to my creative intuition, try new things, take risks and see what my creative soul is made of. To me this is what exploring means, and as creatives, I believe we are all tasked with the job of always exploring!
